Hotel Digital Marketing Trends in 2021
2020 will be remembered as a pivotal year for the hotel industry and as consequence, many hotels will go out of business, and others will florist like foam.
One thing that you need to be clear from now on is that your digital marketing strategies are going to be key to make sure your hotel revenue management is on point. So, we created a list of changes we see are going to impact the most in the coming year.
I don’t like wasting your time with a lot of words so lets get to the point
Guide your guest on their experience
Guests are more careful when it comes to choosing where are they going to stay. Your hotel has to prove to them that you can deliver the experience they are looking for and in order to do that you have to create a better and deeper connection with a potential guest by talking exactly what your guest wants to hear.
What does this mean?
If a guest is looking for a relaxing vacation then you need to communicate effectively how you can help them to have a relaxing vacation. Same, if they want to have a scape from all this 2020 mess then you need to communicate why you are the best option if they want to have a scape from reality.
Actions you can take are creating different sections on your website that are tailored to the different types of experiences. Also, you can create a highlight on Instagram for each type of experience and showcase how you are the best option.
Engage on social media
Hotels that have in place a social media strategy that keeps people engage are going to see more bookings coming from these platforms. The reality is that most hotels are leaving a lot of money on the table for now using social media effectively.
Here is some tips for your social media
- Focus on the engagement, not on the followers
- Try to keep your promotional content to 30%. People don’t want to be spam so make sure you are putting content that is relevant to them.
- Leverage user-generated content. If you see someone posting a picture of your hotel then engage with them and ask them if you can use their post on your social media. And don’t forget to mention them in your post. They will love that
- Measure how many bookings come from social media channels
Give them peace of mind
I don’t need to mention this because if you are here you already know that you need to make sure that your guest understands that they can be safe at your property. Always communicate what are you doing to make sure you follow the health guidelines and the extra work you put to make everyone safe.
Automated follow up process
If you don’t have a strategy to follow up with the guest that checked your rooms and didn’t make a purchase then you are leaving a lot of money that is going to your competitor’s pocket.
Is time to change that.
As soon as your guest checked your website they should enter into your follow-up process. I want to give you some strategies to do an automated follow-up process.
- Track your website visitors and when they visit important pages like your booking engine or rooms retarget them with social media ads. By doing this you are increasing your conversion rate.
- Create landing pages to collect information so later you can follow up by email, chat, or phone.
